Presenting the LMU Munich Amgen Scholars in 2019

This year we are welcoming 16 scholars to the Amgen Scholars Programme in Munich. Selected from over 400 applicants, the especially diverse cohort this year brings a total of 14 nationalities into the programme, with countries of origin are as far as South Korea, Armenia, Latvia, and Kazachstan. The 8 male and 8 female participants are paired with 16 labs at LMU Munich, MPI Institutes of Biochemistry, Neurobiology and Psychiatry, TUM, and Helmholtz Center Munich.

The programme will start with our traditional Opening Retreat in Spitzing, where scholars will be introduced to the LMU site staff, affiliated faculty, and relevant research topics, before joining the labs this week.
